MEET OUR TEAM

Lori Kuhlman (General Manager)

My name is Lori Kuhlman. I've been working here for almost 20 years. I started out as general office help and have progressed over the years, working in and with every department, except for the service department…. although I have held a wrench a time or two 😉. Currently, I am the General Manager but also help the sales team as well. My hobbies include outdoor activities like snowmobiling, four wheeling, Jeeping, camping, and boating. I am also active in my church, serving on the hospitality, leadership, and worship teams; and have gone on several mission trips to Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Malawi, and Ghana. My favorite thing about working here is that we are like family – you know, the good kind that likes to hang out together! We often go four wheeling, snowmobiling, and boating together. We work hard, but we play hard too!

Sales & Finance

Brandon Wolter (Sales & Finance)

My name is Brandon Wolter and I have been with the team since 2015. I have always been a powersports enthusiast. I've raced motocross, enduro and cross-country snowmobiles. When I am not at work, I enjoy snowmobiling, dirt biking, boating, four wheeling, fishing and pretty much anything with an engine. The atmosphere at Lakes Area Powersports is really second to none. We are all like family.

Shelby Berg (Sales & Finance)

My name is Shelby Berg and I am the Business Development Coordinator and Sales & Finance Associate. I've worked at Lakes Area Powersports since February 2022. My favorite things to do are spend weekends at the lake, ride side-by-sides and traveling. My favorite part about working at Lakes Area Powersports is the sense of community between everyone!

Parts & Service

Elton Crandall (Parts & Service Manager)

My name is Elton Crandall. I've been working here for the past 11+ years and have been in parts, service, parts manager, and service manager. I am currently the Parts & Service Manager and I've been in the powersports industry for more than 20 years. You can say I've done it all from working on units, machining parts to management. My hobbies include fishing and riding ATVs/snowmobiles/watercraft. The best thing about working here is that my days fly by and we are like family.

Joel Scherf (Parts & Service Writer)

My name is Joel Scherf and I have worked at Lakes Area Powersports since June of 2023. When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family fishing on the many lakes in the area. We also have a large garden where we spend time together. When I have the chance, I enjoy getting out on the trails and doing some riding. I also enjoy hosting get-togethers with friends and cooking on my smoker. One of the many things that I enjoy about working here is the family atmosphere that we have and that includes the customers that become like family as well.

Rob Hughes (Parts & Service Writer)

My name is Rob Hughes. I'm kind of a smart aleck. I like old cars, snowmobiling and riding motorcycles. My wife and I moved here in 2020 and are enjoying the area and the things to do here. We volunteer at various events in the area and spend the rest of our time enjoying Leech Lake. I have worked at Lakes Area Powersports for a little over a year and enjoy the customers and employees here. Great people.

Joey Zaviska (Inventory Control)

My name is Joey Zaviska and I've been working here since June of 2021 as a parts associate. I have experience in the automotive and industrial fields and am now exploring the powersports field. When I'm not working, I like to go kayaking and boating in the summer and snowmobiling in the winter. What I like about working at a powersports dealership is the ability to get to work with all the new machines and power equipment. What makes this dealership great to work at is the other people who work here. Everyone here is respectful and there is a sense of family between co-workers.

Jay Wolfe (Technician)

My name is Jay Wolfe. I am a husband, dad and multi-certified technician. I started here in July of 2017. Prior to turning wrenches, I was a production specialist designing and machining very intricate and precise parts for military contracting companies such as Bell Helicopter, Lockhead Martin and Raytheon. I spent my last seven years as a production specialist for Raytheon before deciding to relocate and change career paths. Currently, I hold 16 certifications (excluding sub modules and/or updates) with a few of the most rewarding ones being master level Honda power equipment, Silver Stihl, BRP specializing in Sea Doo and Ski Doo. As for hobbies, anything racing. I grew up racing. I enjoy everything Motocross and RC racing, powersports and computer science. After work, I spend a good amount of time studying and writing code, working towards enrollment in a coding bootcamp.

My name is Joshua Kuhlman. I've worked part-time at Lakes Area Powersports since 2016 while I was going to school. I graduated from Alexandria Technical and Community College in 2022 with a diploma in Marine, Motorcycle, & Powersports Technician, and now work in the dealership full-time as a technician. My favorite hobbies include Jeeping, fishing, snowmobiling, dirt biking and playing with RCs. My favorite part about working here is how close all the employees are with each other and getting to work on boats and PWCs, which is what I have always wanted to do.

My name is Trevor Bastian and I am from Thief River Falls. I've been around powersports for as long as I can remember. From racing motocross in the summer to riding snowmobiles in the winter. If it's outdoors, sports, has wheels, or an engine…I'm in! Because of this, I've wrenched since I could hold one in my hand. I've brought this knowledge into my professional career, first as an ASE certified automotive mechanic for five years, and now back to my roots in the powersports industry.

My name is Samuel Pfeiffer. I am a sophomore at WHA High School and I work at Lakes Area Powersports in the summer. I've worked here for three years and it's the best job a 16-year-old could ever have. I've worked with the build team, yard maintenance, clean units, test units and work on the barge. I like fishing and snowmobiling, and I play football, basketball and track. The best part of working at Lakes Area Powersports is the amazing staff. I've learned so much from them and I can't wait to start my fourth summer here.
